🚀 Tokyo Tech Talk #1: Platform Engineering – A Night of Real-World Tech Insights!｜トレジャーAI

先日、麻布台ヒルズオフィスにて第1回目のTokyo Tech Talkが開催されました！このイベントは、エンジニアリング、AI、信頼性、カルチャーにわたる実世界の教訓を共有するため、テクノロジーコミュニティのエンジニアたちが集結しました

プラットフォームエンジニアリングを深く掘り下げる

今回のテーマはプラットフォームエンジニアリングで、「大規模なエンジニアリングチームは、どのようにして信頼性が高く、セキュアで、開発者フレンドリーなプラットフォームを構築するのか？」という核心的な問いに焦点を当てました。講演では、インフラのモダナイゼーションから大規模な開発者体験の向上に至るまで、プラットフォームエンジニアリング、DevOps、信頼性における実践的な教訓と経験が強調されました。

登壇者たちは、多岐にわたり、非常に時宜を得たトピックを共有しました。

• Akane氏は、「K8S Naked Podsから学ぶレジリエンス」と題し、Kubernetesの基本的な構成要素を活用してシステムの回復力を理解し、強化するための貴重な洞察を提供しました。
• Utshav Singh氏は、「Redis > Valkey Migration」について、重要なデータベースをRedisからValkeyへ移行する際に直面した実践的な課題と解決策を解説しました。
• Sam Salman氏（Cyber Samurai）は、「IT-OTセキュリティとStuxnet」に関して、聴衆を釘付けにするような講演を行いました。悪名高いStuxnetワームを警告的な事例として用い、OT（オペレーショナルテクノロジー）セキュリティの重要性について熱く語りました。少し私たちを怖がらせるという彼の目的は成功したと思いますが、これは堅牢なセキュリティの重要性を再認識させるために必要なことでした！
• Alex Cameron氏は、「リアルタイムストリーム処理」のセッションで技術講演を締めくくり、高速でリアルタイムなデータストリーム処理のためのシステム構築の複雑さとベストプラクティスについて深掘りしました。

ネットワーキングとコミュニティ精神

一連の技術セッションの後には、リラックスした雰囲気でのネットワーキングの時間が設けられ、参加者は軽食とともに議論を深めました。これは、講演の内容についてさらに話し合ったり、アイデアを交換したり、東京の技術コミュニティ内で繋がりを築いたりするのに最適な機会となりました。

Last night, the inaugural Tokyo Tech Talk kicked off, and what a fantastic evening it was! The event gathered engineers from across the tech community to share practical, real-world lessons across engineering, AI, reliability, and culture.

Diving Deep into Platform Engineering

The theme for the night was Platform Engineering, focusing on the core question: How do large-scale engineering teams build reliable, secure, and developer-friendly platforms? The talks highlighted practical lessons and experiences in platform engineering, DevOps, and reliability, covering everything from infrastructure modernization to improving developer experience at scale.

The speakers shared a diverse and highly relevant range of topics:

• Akane delivered valuable insights in her talk, “What K8S Naked Pods Teach Us About Resilience,” focusing on leveraging fundamental Kubernetes concepts to understand and enhance system reliability.
• Utshav Singh walked us through a critical infrastructure update in his session on “Redis > Valkey Migration,” detailing the practical challenges and solutions of switching between these database technologies.
• Sam Salman, gave a gripping presentation on “IT-OT Security and Stuxnet.” His session on Operational Technology (OT) security, using the notorious Stuxnet worm as a case study, was definitely intended to scare us—and I think it might have worked! It was a necessary and powerful reminder of the importance of robust security practices.
• Alex Cameron closed out the technical presentations with a session on “Realtime Stream Processing,” delving into the complexities and best practices of building systems for high-speed, low-latency data streams.

Networking and Community Spirit

After the insightful talks, the evening transitioned into a relaxed networking session. Attendees enjoyed refreshments and continued the discussions over the valuable lessons shared. It was a great opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and build community within the Tokyo tech scene.
