Treasure AI Hosts a Three-Day Work Experience Program for High School Students

From August 12 to 14, Treasure AI hosted a three-day Work Experience Program for high school students at its Tokyo office.
Designed for students interested in technology, work, and the future, the program gave participants the opportunity to learn about Treasure AI’s business and products, explore how AI can support people and their work, and experience the process of turning their ideas into real concepts using Treasure AI’s products.
Program Overview
The program began with an introduction to Treasure AI’s business, products, and the employees who support them. Students then gained hands-on experience with AI products while learning the fundamentals of AI agents and AI skills, as well as how they are being used in real-world business settings.
After building this foundation, the students took on a challenge: identify an issue faced by the recruiting team and design an AI skill or AI agent that could help address or support that issue.
The students then interviewed members of the recruiting team to learn more about their day-to-day work and the challenges they face. Based on what they learned, they developed their ideas and prepared their proposals for the first pitch.
During the first pitch, the students presented the challenges they had identified, their proposed solutions, and the prototypes they had built at that stage. After receiving feedback from Treasure AI employees, they revisited their ideas, refined their concepts, and continued preparing for the final presentation.
On the final day, the students presented their completed projects to Treasure AI employees as the culmination of everything they had learned over the three days.
They reflected on what they had created, what they had learned along the way, and how their ideas had evolved through feedback from the employees.
The goal of the program was not simply to create a perfect product. Rather, it was designed to help students understand how people, work, and technology are connected—and to learn that useful AI is created by listening to others, asking questions, testing ideas, and continuously improving through collaboration.
The two ideas began from different perspectives and developed into solution concepts that shared common ground while retaining their own distinct characteristics. After the presentations, the students also reflected that, because the two projects had many similarities, they might eventually have been combined into a single product that could provide even greater value.
What the Students Learned
Ayesha reflected that the program had changed the way she viewed AI. Before participating, she saw AI as a potential threat—something that might one day replace people. However, after building an AI agent herself and improving it through feedback, she came to see AI not as a replacement for people, but as a system that supports them.
She also learned about the potential for a better relationship between people and AI: AI can make work more efficient, while people remain responsible for important decisions.
“Come with curiosity and enjoy every part of the experience.”

Lunch with Treasure AI employees was another particularly memorable part of the program. Through conversations, Ayesha learned about the employees’ roles and backgrounds and was exposed to a range of perspectives. These interactions made her feel warmly welcomed as a member of the workplace community.
Dylan Cha joined the program because he wanted to learn how to use AI effectively, rather than simply rely on it. Through the program, he began to see AI not only as a search engine or a tool for assisting with writing, but also as a partner for developing ideas and building products.
“I was surprised that I could ‘vibe-code’ an entire product without learning Python.”

Receiving feedback from Treasure AI employees was another important part of the learning experience. In the early stages, Dylan’s product was not yet fully functional or sufficiently developed. However, through repeated conversations and discussions with Treasure AI employees, he gained new ideas and was able to further refine the product. He reflected that this process helped him deliver a more polished product and presentation.
The students also shared a common impression of the employees and mentors they met at Treasure AI. They were particularly struck by how approachable everyone was, how easy it was to ask questions, and how sincerely the employees listened to their ideas.
The experience also changed the students’ perceptions of Japanese workplaces. They found Treasure AI to be a warm and collaborative environment—one where people take their work seriously while also providing thoughtful support tailored to each student’s experience and level of knowledge.
Three Days of Learning and Thinking Together
The program was a valuable learning opportunity for the students, but it also gave Treasure AI employees many opportunities to learn and reflect. Through the students’ questions, creative ideas, and diverse perspectives, we gained new insights of our own.
The final presentations reminded us once again that technical knowledge and skills alone are not enough to create AI that is genuinely useful to people. Listening to the people who will use it, incorporating different perspectives, and thinking carefully about what is truly needed are just as important. The students’ presentations brought this lesson to life.
We are deeply grateful for the students’ enthusiasm, openness, and initiative throughout the three days. We hope this experience will serve as a practical foundation for their continued learning and exploration of AI. We look forward to seeing what they go on to create.
At Treasure AI, we believe that responsible technology begins with listening to people. We will continue to create opportunities for students to learn, experiment, and explore how technology can support better work and better experiences for people.
